Venezuela​

The Guernica Group is currently working with a group of legal professionals and civil society actors to analyse and potentially advise Venezuelan former prosecutors  from the Criminal and Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit who have extracted and collated evidence relating to the political persecutions, and other human rights violations committed by the armed and security forces in the country. 

 

We have together identified the need and developed a project to create a dual legal team that, with Guernica leading, will undertake the necessary documentation efforts, sistematización of the documentation and rigorous legal analysis to enable a communication to be drafted and filed with the ICC Office of the Prosecutor —as well as to other national courts or international human rights institutions— with a view to opening international and transnational investigations, and prosecutions against perpetrators of international crimes in Venezuela.
